Kayitz Staff & Volunteer Application



 
Welcome to Kayitz K-7 Volunteer & Staff application for Summer 2025!
 
Staff and volunteers interested in joining the Kayitz (K-7) Summer 2025 team must complete this application. Staff and volunteers who join the Kayitz Family will be working with Kim Roberts, Alyssa Katon, and Lisa Goodman.
 
Preference for Volunteers and CIT positions will be given to individuals with one or more of the following criteria:
 
  • Temple Beth Ami Membership
  • Enrollment in Machane TBAHigh (Grades 8-12)
  • Prior work experience in Kayitz, Gan Ami, and/or Machane TBA
  • Prior experience working with children in varying settings
  • Number of weeks available to fill a given position
Please note: TBA reviews all applications and notifies each applicant if chosen for an interview. TBA will not interview all summer applicants. Based on current licensing regulations and enrollment, there may be limited positions available to work directly with children. If volunteer positions are full, you will be notified via email thanking you for your interest in giving back to our community and inviting you to reach out to learn more about TBA's volunteer opportunities.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:
 
  • Volunteers: Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older and an incoming 8th grader or above. Volunteers are eligible for SSL hours.
     
  • CIT’s: Counselors in Training (CIT) are entering 11th or 12th graders. CITs are eligible for payment or SSL hours based on experience, staffing needs and the Kayitz Supervisor’s discretion.
     
  • Counselor: Counselors are responsible for the care and well-being of campers. Moderate planning and support in implementing programming. Strong communication skills with children, staff, and families. Responsible alongside leads.
     
  • Lead Counselor: Lead Counselors are responsible for the primary care and well-being of campers. They are responsible for planning bunk programming, parent communication and oversight of volunteers, CITs, and counselors in their bunk.
     
  • Photography Intern: Photography Interns are eligible for SSL hours. They are responsible for taking photos during the day at camp. It is important they capture the fun, warmth, and love that takes place on a day-to-day basis. Photography interns are also responsible for uploading photos to a computer and sorting each day for the weekly end of camp slideshow.
