A Taste of Wise Aging with Fran Zamore, MSW

Thursday, June 12, 2025 16 Sivan 5785

10:30 AM - 12:00 PMTemple Beth Ami

Join us for a Taste of Wise Aging, an introduction to the Wise Aging program that reimagines aging as a time of growth, discovery, and renewed purpose. This session will explore how Judaism’s tools - study, prayer, mindfulness, meditation, journaling, and creative listening - can help us navigate this life stage with joy, resilience, and spirit. We plan to launch a new Wise Aging cohort in the Fall, which will meet once a month for 9 months. Stay tuned for registration link in the summer!

Based on Wise Aging: Living with Joy, Resilience, and Spirit by Rabbi Rachel Cowan and Dr. Linda Thal. Participants in the series will purchase and bring their own copies of the book.

Fran Zamore, an experienced social worker, mindfulness meditation teacher, and Wise Aging facilitator, will lead the session. With over 30 years of experience in clinical social work and spiritual growth, Fran now focuses on facilitating Wise Aging groups and Jewish mindfulness meditation. She is the co-author of GriefWork and GriefWork for Teens and actively contributes to Adat Shalom Reconstructionist Congregation and Jews United for Justice.

During Wise Aging sessions, we’ll discuss key questions like: Who am I now? How can I cultivate generosity, gratitude, and deep relationships at this stage of life? What will my legacy be?

This “Taste of Wise Aging” is free and open to adults of all ages.
