After 32 years of devoted service to our children, families, and community, Ellen Bortz is retiring from Gan Ami. Ellen joined our school in 1993 and has served as a Bet and Dalet teacher and, most recently, as our Special Projects Coordinator. But more than her roles, Ellen has been the heart of Gan Ami—bringing warmth, creativity, and deep care to everything she does. She has touched countless lives and will be profoundly missed.

We invite you to join us in celebrating Ellen’s incredible career during our upcoming Teacher Appreciation Tot Shabbat on Friday, May 9. Join us as we gather for a special dinner in her honor immediately following the service.

Dinner Details:
$12 per adult (ages 13 and up)
$6 per child (ages 2–12)
$36 max per family for immediate family only*

Dinner will be catered by one of Ellen's favorite restaurants, Gregorio’s Trattoria, and will include pasta, pizza, and salad. Let’s come together as a community to thank Ellen and to celebrate the incredible impact she has made at Gan Ami.
